Where every game...

Is momentum gained.

Is momentum gained...

Fitness

What makes us different?

We use game-based training with an approach called "fixed-shaping" to guide dogs into offering goal behaviors. We teach brief engaging training games that create an enjoyable experience for both the dog and handler, growing joy, and skills simultaneously. Yes, we are +R! Ask us about our FREE in-between class coaching for extra support. We hope you join us at "Power Of Play," where every game is momentum gained!

Family dog skillsets are the heart and core to any kind of life you want with your dog. Just to name a few things these games will help with:

  • Bolting out the front door

  • Counter surfing

  • Recalls

  • Retrieve

  • Consent to healthcare

  • Support for reactivity/over arousal

  • Loose leash walking

This section is like kindergarten through high school, teaching skills for navigating the real world. When you have an incredible family pet, its easy to build working dog skills, service dog skills, or sport skills.

Physical exercise is key to maintaining any living beings
"homeostasis". A few benefits include:

  • Exercise activates the sympathetic nervous system, improving how the body handles stress.

  • It also triggers the release of hormones that help regulate mood, metabolism, and immune function.

  • Daily exercise also promotes neurogenesis

Dogs are predators, it can be hard to meet a their daily needs. This section will have ideas for activities that can help meet your dogs basic core physical needs. We will grow this section over time!

Obedience is varied across the different sports, but to name a few:

  • Focus Heel

  • Contact Heel

  • Send Out

  • Retrieve

  • Position Changes

  • Scent Discrimination

  • Long Down

Each sport may have a variance in criteria for each skill. Obedience is very precise, with many layers. This section could grow forever, as it is a complex sport. We will add to it over time!

Trick dog is accessible to anyone, anywhere! Its disability/family friendly. There are titles you can earn just from 5 minuet practice sessions in your livingroom! It stimulates both you, and your dog working out these fun skills together. It can teach your dog how to use their bodies, impress your friends, entertain yourselves on a rainy day, and so much more! This is one of the easiest ways to meet some of your dogs mental needs. You can even put together fun skits with your dog and submit them to competitions like AKC's Trick Dog competition.

ITS MY FAVORIIITEEE

AHHHHHHHHHHHHH

This is a photo of Trico when he was in recovery and had to stay in bed. Not only is scentwork for people who want to earn fancy titles with places like NACSW, or AKC, but if the dog or handler has a disability, it is easy to customize to the physical needs to either handler or dog. According to AKC 1/8 of a dogs brain is dedicated to interpreting odor, it goes without saying, scenting is a daily need for your dog, so why not make it a fun/usefull game to play together?
